According to the information statistics released by the International Energy Network, a total of 48 energy storage related policies were issued by the national and local governments in April 2024, and 96 new energy related policies were issued in the past two months, with a focus on new energy distribution and storage policies, energy storage participation in electricity marketization, and energy storage planning and layout policies. New energy storage
New energy storage is relative to traditional energy storage, which mainly includes pumped storage. New energy storage includes lithium-ion batteries, flow batteries, compressed air energy storage, flywheel energy storage, etc. The new type of energy storage has the characteristics of short construction period, simple and flexible site selection, and strong regulation ability. It can store the excess electricity generated by new energy such as photovoltaics and release it during peak electricity consumption, promoting energy consumption and allocation.

Tai District Energy Storage
Before understanding energy storage in a substation, the first thing to understand is what a substation is. In the process of power distribution, we need to convert the high-voltage electrical energy transmitted in the grid into lower voltage electrical energy through transformers to adapt to user usage. And the substation refers to the power supply range or area of a transformer in the power system.

Energy storage in the distribution network refers to the technology of storing and releasing electrical energy by installing energy storage devices (such as batteries, supercapacitors, etc.) to balance grid load and improve power supply reliability. This type of energy storage device is generally installed in the power distribution station or substation where the distribution transformer is located. It has the function of responding to instantaneous load fluctuations and peak load demands in the distribution network, and can effectively improve the stability and response speed of the power grid.

Energy Storage 3S
The industrial and commercial energy storage system mainly consists of energy storage inverters (PCS), battery management systems (BMS), energy management systems (EMS), battery packs, and other electrical equipment. Energy storage 3S refers to PCS, BMS, and EMS. In the energy storage system, the battery pack feeds back status information to the BMS, which shares it with EMS and PCS; EMS distributes control information to PCS and BMS based on optimization and scheduling decisions, controlling the energy storage battery to complete charging and discharging tasks.

Shared energy storage refers to a way of optimizing the allocation of energy storage resources across the entire grid, including independent and dispersed grid side, power side, and user side, using the power grid as a link. At the same time, combined with an intelligent energy management system, the energy storage capacity and energy supply capacity are provided to multiple users or participants through a shared platform for common use.

Shared energy storage has the following three advantages: 1. It effectively promotes the consumption of new energy electricity; 2. Effectively shorten the investment payback period; 3. Further promote the formation of an independent auxiliary service provider identity for energy storage.

C-Rate battery discharge rate
Discharge rate refers to the current value required to discharge its rated capacity within a specified time. It is numerically equal to a multiple of the battery's rated capacity, that is, the charge and discharge current (A)/rated capacity (Ah), and its unit is generally C (short for C-rate), such as 0.5C, 1C, etc. The larger the value, the shorter the time required for the battery to fully charge.

By checking the product parameter table of the Leading Energy Ocean400L, it can be found that the discharge rate of the C-Rate battery of this product does not exceed 0.5C, and it only takes about two hours to complete the charging and discharging of the energy storage system.

Load Shifting
Peak shifting and valley filling refer to the use of energy storage to achieve peak shaving and valley filling of electricity loads. That is, users charge their batteries during periods of low electricity loads and release the stored electricity during periods of high electricity loads, achieving "peak shaving and valley filling" of electricity. For example, in industrial and commercial energy storage systems, companies can purchase low-priced electricity from the grid during electricity price valleys and supply it to loads during peak or off peak periods, thereby achieving "peak valley arbitrage" and greatly reducing the company's electricity expenses.

Dynamic Capacity Expansion
The user's transformer capacity is fixed, and in general, when the user needs the transformer to operate at overload during a certain period of time, the transformer needs to be expanded. Generally speaking, there are two ways to increase capacity: static capacity expansion and dynamic capacity expansion.

Static capacity expansion refers to the application of the power bureau to replace the transformer with a larger one, but this method is very expensive; Dynamic capacity expansion is achieved by installing energy storage systems that discharge during periods of transformer overload, reducing transformer load and thus reducing the cost of transformer capacity expansion and renovation.
