What is energy storage BMS?


Energy storage BMS is the abbreviation for Battery Management System. This is an electronic system designed specifically for energy storage battery packs, used to monitor and protect the battery pack during charging and discharging processes to ensure the safe, stable, and efficient operation of the battery. The core functions of BMS include:


1. Battery monitoring: Real time monitoring of key parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, etc. of each individual battery in the battery pack.

2. Balance control: Adjust the differences between each battery cell, match the power of all batteries through passive or active balance technology, prevent overcharging or overdischarging of individual batteries, and extend the overall life of the battery pack.

3. Protection function: including overcharge, overdischarge, short circuit, over temperature and under temperature protection, etc., to ensure the safe operation of the battery pack.

4. State estimation: Calculate and estimate the remaining charge (SOC), remaining life (SOH), and charge discharge power (SOP) of the battery pack, providing reference data for users and energy management systems.

5. Connection communication: Data exchange with devices outside the battery pack can be achieved through buses (such as CAN, RS485, etc.) to communicate with external monitoring systems, energy management systems (EMS), or other control systems.

6. Alarm and diagnosis: issue a warning when the battery status is abnormal, and record the abnormal event for later analysis and maintenance.
